Manitoba, in the center portion of Canada,is a province of lakes, farmlands and tundra, which stretches from Hudson Bay to the border of North Dakota and Minnesota in the U.S.A. Thompson is located near Mystery Lake and is considered the hub of the North. You won't be able to miss the unique high rise with the wolf painted on one side. This is a scientific research center for many manufacturers, but the city is known for its hiking and cross country skiing trails which run through downtown. This is great country for winter and summer activities including fishing, kayaking, and snow sledding. Paint Lake has spectacular waterfalls and islands.
Portage-La- Prairie is one of the sunniest and warmest place in the province to visit. See the world's largest Coca Cola can and historic 18th century French fort. Stay in low cost motels amidst the cottonwood trees shading the streets. Bird watchers enjoy the thousands of Canadian geese.
