Are you ready for fish and chips? How about a walk thru Piccadilly Square? This country was once the original homeland of many of the first American settlers. Between Westminster and Waterloo Bridges, on the south bank of the River Thames is an explosion of cultural venues and attractions. Visit the London Aquarium and the famous London Eye. County Hall is the home of Dali Universe, which includes a display of works by the famous painter, Picasso. Also visit the Hayward Gallery, which houses the Queen Elizabeth Hall, the Purcell Room and the Royal Festival Hall. These venues showcase work by world-class dancers, musicians, and orchestras.
With a population of approximately 7 million people, London is a big place with over 400 square miles so bring a good pair of shoes for walking. The weather can be somewhat dreary but it is always a great time for shopping and the haut couture. London has a vibrant nightlife and offers plenty of tours to incomers and visitors. London has provided the world with much and she is waiting for you to come and claim your portion of her history. There is great cuisine to try, just remember that London is not the cheapest place these days as the British pound is worth more that than American dollar, so do come prepared.
