Anaheim Overview

The greater Anaheim area is full of attractions for all ages. Anaheim, the place in the sun where Disney theme park magic first came to life, has proven that it’s not such a small world after all, not when it comes to packing in an assortment of entertainment luring visitors from far and near. Since Disneyland’s 1955 debut, the area has mushroomed into a multi-faceted vacation destination. It is known that Walt Disney scouted every inch of Southern California before settling on 75 acres of orange grove in Anaheim for this first amusement park vision, destined to become a star-spangled fantasy capital of the world.

There are also about 42 miles of shoreline and communities stretching from Long Beach and Newport Beach to Balboa, Laguna Beach and San Clemente. About 30 miles south of downtown LA and 90 miles north of San Diego, Anaheim spans for more than 700 square miles and has its own professional ballet company, the Anaheim Angels and the Mighty Ducks hockey team! As far as the weather, we all know it never rains in Southern California!
