Honolulu Overview

Honolulu is the Capital of the Aloha state, Hawaii. It is situated on the island of Oahu. Average temperatures range from 68 to 80 degrees all year around. Hawaii’s most unique feature is said to be its “Aloha Spirit” referring to the friendly nature of its people that compliments the exotic and beautiful lands. The 6 primary islands include Kauai, Oahu, Molokai, Lanai, Maui, and Hawaii’s Big Island. Each island is distinct in its own way whether it is food, tradition or the landscape. There is one thing all have in common: each island is rich in culture and natural beauty.

Things to include on your itinerary when visiting Hawaii include visiting Waikiki on the island of Oahu. This is a great place for surfers, beginning, intermediate or expert surfers alike will enjoy catching a wave on the beaches of this island. Pay your respects at the U.S.S. Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. This floating shrine was built over the sunken hull of the Battleship U.S.S. Arizona, which is the final resting place for many of the crewmen that lost their lives during the December 7th attack. Lolani Palace is a beautifully restored royal palace which now serves as the residency of US royalty.

There are also plenty of art galleries and nightlife scenes to check of after hours. Watch out for the Honolulu Festival held in March which is Hawaii’s annual cultural event, promoting ethnic harmony through educational programs and activities. The World Invitational Hula Festival held in November draws dancers who come to Hawaii to hula. There are exhibitions and dance competitions, art exhibits and more.
