New Orleans Overview

New Orleans is like no other place in the United States. The city has a vibe and spirit all its own. With a distinct European flavor, it has been home to many different cultures all living and growing together. New Orleans is one of the most visited cities in America but these numbers have decreased since hurricane Katrina. The city was made famous for the French Quarter and its wonderful Creole food. New Orleans is now a city in transition, with many residents coming back home since the recent disaster. There has been a special emphasis on getting things back to normal again but the music, the people, and food never left and are still alive within the city.

New Orleans has bee dubbed the “Most Unique City in America.” This city is also the birthplace of Jazz which has dominated the musical industry for many years and is loved by millions around worldwide. The city’s weather is heavily influenced by the Gulf of Mexico with very hot and humid summers and mild winters. Famous for beignets and Café Au Lait, New Orleans is the home of Mardi Gras, which occurs right before Lent during the Easter celebration. Another well known event is the New Orleans Jazz Festival and also the Essence Music Festival.
