Maine Overview
Pass that butter and move out of my way! We all love lobster and you are at the home of that wonderful delicacy from the sea. Of course there are many things to do in Maine besides eat. The State of Maine is about as far as you can go in the Northern portion of the United States. With a population of 1 million, this states weather is greatly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, which means cold and snowy winters.
Besides the great food, Maine has some of the most beautiful white sand beaches along the Southern part of the state with over 5,500 miles of beaches along its shores. With so many activities connected to being on the ocean, you will see plenty of Festivals in the spring and summer along with various activities from sailing to an old-fashioned clam-bake. Also, a number of State Parks offer everything from white-water kayaking to Windjammer Cruises which take you out into the Atlantic Ocean aboard a sailing yacht complete with a hospitable crew! Maine has much to offer so come to visit!
