Mississippi Overview
Mississippi can be called the home of the blues as many notable blues musicians originated in this state including B.B. King. The name of this state originates from the Mississippi River, the 2nd longest river in the U.S., which runs across the state’s western boundary and flows right into the Gulf of Mexico.
The capital of Mississippi is Jackson which includes a few great places of interest including the Southern Breeze Art Gallery displaying artwork of its natives. Jackson Zoological Park provides a variety of educational tours for all ages. The Mississippi Capitol Building also offers tours of its historical role in government. If this is not enough, you can also visit one of Biloxi’s Casino’s, Imperial Palace or Boomtown.
Mississippi is rich is southern charm and history. It is a great place to visit even if just to enjoy the warm weather.
