Family Fun in St Louis
St. Louis sits on the Mississippi and Missouri Rivers. This river city with its tall Gateway Arch is the perfect place to visit with your family. There are scores of free things to do as well as those designed to bring out the kid in all of us. So book one of the St Louis hotel deals, and come "Meet me in St Louie, Louie."
All ages love going to the zoo, and St. Louis has an excellent one. The St. Louis Zoo has so many "zoo zones" to explore, and a great variety of animals as well as fish, insects, birds and even a children's zoo. Plus there are fun eateries along the journey. But there are other ways to see the creatures of this world. Take a tour of Grant's Farm and see deer, the famous Clydesdale horses and more at the Busch ancestral home. There is also the Purina Farm and the Suson Park Animal Farm to experience. Visit the City Museum and the World Aquarium on Washington Avenue, just a short walk from the Convention Center. This is a totally hands-on experience encouraging you to walk, and even crawl, through secret passages to see all the wonderful species. Head to Lone Elk Reservoir, not far from the city, with plenty of picnic areas and hiking trails so you can see eagles, owls and so much more at the World Bird Sanctuary.
For fun squeals, St. Louis has many theme parks and water parks. Have fun at Six Flags, or splash at the Raging Rivers Waterpark. Head for the Aquaport. Take a cruise under the Gateway Arch on an authentic riverboat, just like Mark Twain. See butterflies, ride an old fashioned carousel and learn a bit of history in Faust Park.
Of course there is sports as well. This is home of the MLB St Louis Cardinals . Come to Busch Stadium for the seventh inning stretch and the NFL St Louis Rams playing in the Edward Jones Dome. St. Louis is also home to the NHL Blues. For interactive indoor sports thrills, the Sports Fusion in nearby Chesterfield is the biggest laser tag facility in the state, and so much more. There is miniature golf, rock climbing, and arcade games, just to name a few.
