Columbus Overview

Columbus, Ohio, is home to the Ohio State Buckeyes and Ohio State University, which is one of the largest educational institutes in America. Much happens on the Ohio State campus, but Columbus also has a number of distinctly famous neighborhoods as well. The Short North is rich with art galleries, dotted with fine dining restaurants, pubs, and specialty shops. If you are a fan of Victorian styled homes, the Victorian Village neighborhood is the place for you.

To the north portion of town you will come to the campus of Ohio State University. With over 50,000 students, it is easily one of the largest campuses in the country. Much of the party atmosphere, bars and pubs in particular, were designed for the benefit of the students but there are a variety of boutiques and shopping places that tourists can take advantage of. The summer weather is very hot and muggy while significant snowfall is typical in the winter time. Columbus is also home to one of the largest State Fairs in the country and consists of great food, drink and of course good times.
