South Carolina Overview

The distinctive architecture throughout the state reflects the history of European, African and Caribbean influences. The Blue Ridge Mountains offer wonderful campgrounds and South Carolina’s Parks cover over 80,000 acres and feature over 3,000 scenic campsites with abundant outdoor activities for children and adults to enjoy. The state of South Carolina is located along the Atlantic Ocean on the east which brings in the mild ocean breezes. The state experiences winter temperatures of 42 degrees and summer temperatures on average of 72 degrees.

Year- round festivals include Palmetto. This festival celebrates the history, culture and beauty of the state. Other festivals include the Azalea and Peach Festivals which are held in the mountains. The Sun Fun Days is an oyster fest for all, and the Gullah Festival are all popular festivals held throughout the year. Fans of fishing and golf can find rivers and golf courses to partake in their favorite pastime.
