Casper WY Hotel Deals

Casper sits at the foot of Casper Mountain. Once hard to traverse in a covered wagon, it is now one of the most popular places to ski. Times have changed, and so has Casper. Yet, it has preserved it's past as well, which makes this city an excellent place to spend your next vacation or hold your next business event. There are many low-cost, quality hotels that offer great rates on rooms and meeting places in and around Casper and in particular, near the Casper Events Center.

If you like going way back in the past, check out the Tate Geological Museum on the Casper College campus with over 3,000 fossils and "Dee" the preserved 14 foot mammoth. Also near the campus and low-priced hotels with discounted rooms is the Werner Wildlife Museum. Admission is free. Say hi to Snowflake, the albino deer who once roamed the campus. Exhibits include wild life from Europe, Africa and Asia as well as North America.

Sports lovers adore Casper. During the winter months come join in the fun Nordic skiing, snowmobiling and bobsledding as well as swooshing down the slopes. Other times, rock climbing, trail riding, fishing and hunting are popular activities. There is also a bit of ghost hunting you can do. Sightings have been recorded over the years at the Ivy Inn, on Renshaw's Bridge and historical Fort Casper. Now you can arrive via the Natrona County Airport, but years ago people came on the Oregon, California, Mormon and Pony Express Trails. Many of the former residents have been said to still be hanging around. You'll love hanging around your comfortable and affordable hotel room close to all there is to do and see in Casper.

There is night life in Casper as well. The stars are bright from Casper Mountain, but for a real look-see, visit the Casper Planetarium. If you love music, it is streaming from the many clubs and bars just a short drive from top-notch inexpensive hotels with low room rates. Tap your feet in All That Jazz, or catch a show at the Art Core. You'll find great restaurants serving up much more than trail beans and coffee that used to be the fare for pioneers traveling west.

Casper is on I-25 less than three hours from the capital city of Cheyenne and five hours from Yellowstone National Park.
