Antioch University New England is located in the Monadnock Region in southwest, New Hampshire. The New England school was part of the Antioch system of schools which includes schools in Ohio, California and Washington. Antioch College was founded by Horace Mann in Yellow Springs, Ohio. Antioch University New England has now separated itself from the Antioch system. The school is a graduate school with 23 different master's programs and two doctoral programs.

There are 1,200 students. Over 2/3 of the students are female. Over 2/3 of the students come from New England. Programs are aimed towards working students and working faculty. Students spend extensive time in internships. Programs are offered in applied psychology, clinical psychology, education, environmental studies and management.

Residents of Antioch University can easily travel to Boston, Massachusetts; Montreal, Canada; Portland, Maine and New York. Keene has 23,000 residents with a small town feel. It is filled with artists, boutique stores and restaurants. Mt. Monadnock is a heavily climbed mountain where one can get a view of Boston. Accommodations include hotels, inns and bed and breakfasts. The Arts Alive! organization encourages the arts and culture.

Students are encouraged to serve underserved areas abroad. Many faculty, such as Beth Kaplin, are developing programs in foreign universities like the University of Rwanda. Social justice is also encouraged.
