Baptist Bible College is a private religious institution located in Springfield, Missouri. It is owned and affiliated with the Baptist Bible Fellowship International. The school traces its history back to a 1950 meeting of Baptist ministers in Fort Worth, Texas. Soon after, a five-acre tract of land, formerly a city park, was purchased in Springfield. The school opened on September 5, 1950, utilizing the Sunday school facilities of the High Street Baptist Church. Four army-type barracks were purchased and refurbished to serve as the necessary facilities for the initial 107 students. Over the course of the next two decades, the college underwent a steady increase in enrollment and engaged in a series of building projects. The Graduate School was founded in 1985. The school received initial regional accreditation in 2005, with the Graduate School earning national accreditation in 2007.

According to its mission statement, Baptist Bible College “is an institution of biblical higher learning that exists to provide a Christ-centered curriculum that fosters a biblical worldview, empowering students to engage and impact their global society." Focused primarily to train pastors, missionaries and Christian leaders, the college offers associate and bachelor’s degrees in majors including Pastoral Studies, Church Education, Youth Ministry, Business Management, and others. The Graduate School offers Master of Arts degrees in Church Ministry, Biblical Counseling, Biblical Studies, Intercultural Studies, as well as a Master of Divinity degree.

Situated in the northern section of Springfield, Baptist Bible’s thirty-acre campus is home to approximately 460 undergraduate and 85 graduate students. The school maintains five residence halls for single students and four apartment buildings for married and graduate students. The college sponsors a number of clubs and organizations. Additionally, Baptist Bible students and visitors can avail themselves of the many cultural and recreational activities offered by the city of Springfield and the surrounding Ozark Mountains.

Baptist Bible’s men’s basketball and women’s volleyball teams compete as Division II members of the National Christian College Athletic Association.
