It may be one of the smaller states in the union, but Delaware is big on pets. From Dover to Rehoboth Beach, you can find four dog friendly beaches, nine parks and eight hiking trails. Plus, there are oodles of Delaware pet friendly discount hotels along the way. So grab the pets and head to this historic state, one of the original thirteen colonies.
If you love the ocean, come enjoy the beaches in Delaware. At Bethany are both Bethany Beach and Fenwick Island State Park which allow leashed pets to romp with their owners. Be sure to see the lighthouse while you are there. Cape Henlopen State Park also allows pets during the summer months and has hiking trails as well as beachfronts. With rivers and beaches throughout the state, Delaware is perfect for outdoor activities such as boating, hunting, hiking and fishing. But in Middletown, Wilmington and Newark you can find some excellent golf courses as well. And if you like on land speed, Delaware has NASCAR race tracks as well like the Dover Speedway, nicknamed the Monster Mile.
