Nebraska Pet Friendly Cheap Hotels
Nebraska is the Corn Husker State and much of our nation's grains are grown here. This is a great state to travel with pets. There are over fifty dog allowed parks in the state and lots of trails to hike with your best friend. Plus, you can find great deals on Nebraska pet friendly hotels. But, Nebraska is also home to nationally acclaimed NCAA sports, outdoor recreation and pioneer history.
The biggest city in population in the state is Omaha, located where the Platte and the Missouri Rivers meet. Learn the history surrounding Fort Omaha. This city is known for great theater and pet friendly discount hotels. There are several dog parks here as well. Shaggy Pines Dog Park is on Elm Street and the Hefflinger Dog Park has segregated fenced areas for small and larger dogs. You might also want to check out Memorial Park near University Avenue, though it is leash required. Omaha also has quite a few golf courses, as well as the Gerald R. Ford Birthplace and Gardens to explore. Be sure to tour the Joslyn Castle where lots of events are held throughout the year.
Lincoln is the state capital and home to the University of Nebraska Cornhuskers. It also has the top-rated bark park in the state at Holmes Lake. Patrons give it five paws. It has fenced areas for small and large dogs, benches and a creek. Oak Lake Dog Park is well maintained, too. While visiting Lincoln, you will find many attractions near your lodgings offering great pet friendly hotel deals. All ages enjoy the Lincoln Children's Zoo and Sunken Gardens. Just to the west off of I-80 is Pawnee Lake Recreation Area.
Also along I-80 and the Platte River is the city of Kearney, which has one of the top ten ranked doggie parks in the state - Meadowlark North Dog Park. Do bring your own water for your pet to drink after romping in this fenced in off-leash park. Here bird lovers flock to the Rowe Sanctuary. Sorry, no pets allowed, though. Another great tourist spot is the Museum of Nebraska Art with original Audubon drawings and other great American works. Go back in time and see what pioneer life was all about at the Harold Warp Pioneer Village. There is so much to do and see, you may wish to book another night at your Kearney pet friendly hotel.
